Teaching with an Understanding of Technology |
This was the very first course that I took for my Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET). In these seven weeks, I learned how to use the abundance of information on the internet to learn something new through a networked learning project. I also was introduced to the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Framework (TPACK framework). Through readings and activities, I was able to find ways for my students to use technology to access information, problem solve, communicate, and express their creativity. |

Adapting Innovative Technologies in Education |
This was the class that I was first introduced to Makers Education Initiative and Remixing for the purpose of education. Explorative activities helped synthesize the student centered lessons that I developed; lessons that focused on creativity and making in the classroom. I was also able to redesign my classroom into a space that supports collaboration and creativity. |

Applying Educational Technologies to Issues of Practice |
In this particular course, I learned how to ask questions differently in the classroom, through readings and discussions based off of Warren Berger's 'A More Beautiful Question'. Furthermore, I was introduced to the idea of a 'wicked problem' and through a collaborative group project, identified a common wicked problem found in education and developed a solution. |

Teaching Students Online |
This was one of the most challenging courses with the biggest takeaways. In this course we were required to design an online or hybrid course readily available to teach students. Through trial and error and discussing our various needs, students decided on a learning management platform that worked best for their situation. I decided to use google sites and google classroom as my platform of choice. I still use the modules that I created in this course in my Algebra II classes. |

Approaches to Educational Research |
This course was imperative for completing a research review. It challenged students to find evidence through research, for or against, common generalizations in education. At the culmination of the course, I chose the following topic of focus for research: Smart Technologies in the Mathematics Classroom. I completed a literary review with 15 credible research articles/journals that gave sufficient evidence on said topic. |

Creativity in Teaching & Learning |
Throughout this course I was given various tools to be able to discuss approaches to creativity and how to 'spark' creativity in ourselves and in the classroom. I was also able to explore and understand these how these different approaches affect myself as a learner, and myself as an educator. Through understanding these different approaches to creativity, I was able to create student activities that encourage creative thinking in the classroom. |

Learning Technology Through Design |
In this course I was introduced to the Stanford Design School Model, in which I was able apply in order to define a Problem of Practice in my current school setting, and then ultimately find a solution. The course helped find the solution to my Problem of Practice through carefully constructed labs that explored the different stages of design in the Stanford Model. |
